1. After a good routine of dry skin
Use mild, warm water instead of hot water. Warm water relaxes the pores and makes it easier to wash the face, but hot water can dry out the skin faster.
The ideal water temperature when washing the face would be only a fraction of warmer than lukewarm. Heat is a natural exfoliant, so hot water is ideal if you want to rid your skin of dead skin cells and oils. However, if the skin on your face is dry, keep away from hot temperatures.
If you need hot water on your face, Moisture in the air usually helps the skin to retain some of its natural moisture, but you will be able to retain even more if you can cool your skin regularly. rinse your face quickly with cold water to reduce the time the heat lingers on your face.
Likewise, you should come to your house on very hot days and quickly splash cold water on your face to cool the skin.
2. Use only mild facial cleanser.
Body soaps are too hard for the skin in your face, so you should look for a cleanser that is specifically designed for your face.
Many soap based cleaners contain sodium lauryl sulfate, a surfactant known to remove moisture. For your face, non-soap cleaners or non-foaming cleaners are a sure way to go.
You should also avoid detergents with added scents, as they often contain a form of alcohol that is an astringent that can dry out your skin.
Also, consider using a cleanser containing ceramides, a type of fat molecule that is normally found on the outer skin layer.

3.Pat your skin dry.
Never rub a dry towel over your skin after washing your face. Instead, dab your face dry with a dry, soft towel.
Use a soft cloth, but make sure it is made of fibers that can actually absorb water. A soft terry works well.
Ideally, you should dry your face so that it feels slightly moist but not dripping wet. However, if you know that you are using certain creams (such as hydrocortisone), make sure that your skin is 100% dry before applying it to dry areas. To minimize possible irritation, dab your skin dry for only 20 seconds or less. This avoids that the cream is watered down and that the concentration of medicine in the application is lower
Apply for a moisturizer after washing your face. A moisturizing lotion or cream should be liberally applied to your face after washing. Preferably, the skin should also retain some moisture, as applying moisturizer to moist skin may hold back a greater portion of that moisture on your skin for longer.
Any moisturizer or lotion for your face is worth trying if you do not know what you are looking for, but if you already use a moisturizer and need something stronger, look for one with shea butter, ceramides, stearic acid, or glycerin listed somewhere in the ingredients.
